9:04 AM – The band kicks things off with “Your Great Name”

9:15 AM – Worship with us!  “♪Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave!♫”

9:22 AM – Dr. Barrick starts us off with a message from Leviticus 18.  “The so-called “queer theologians” assert that the holiness codes were imposed on Israel by an outside authority.  If this is true, then it undermines the inerrancy and sufficiency of Scripture.”

9:32 AM

9:34 AM – “In Leviticus 18, we have the sanctity of marriage.  In chapter 19, we have the sanctity of social ethics.” – Dr. Barrick

9:35 AM – Dr. Barrick is focusing in on the difference between the words “defiled”, “abomination”, and “perversion”.   “They are strong words, they are words that reveal the distaste God has for these sins.”

9:42 AM – “Salvation has always been the same.  He would suffer, He would die, and He would rise again. So why was the law given?  Not to save, but to confront and define sin.  These instructions (in the law) are not for salvation, but are to tell people who already have been saved how to live.”

9:47 AM – “Since James was the very first book of the New Testament (written around 45 AD), when it tells us that we are saved by the Word and sanctified by the Word, it means the Old Testament.”

9:49 AM – Dr. Barrick continues to establish that since Leviticus 18 begins with “‘I am the LORD your God.” {Lev 18:2b NASB} (also in verses 4-6) and that the prohibitions found in the chapter are for all people who are commanded “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.” {1Pe 1:14-16 NASB}

9:52 AM

9:56 AM – “When we think of Jesus’ words to Laodicea (“I will spew you from my mouth”) are MILD WORDS compared to “abomination” and “perversion” in Leviticus 18.”

9:58 AM – “What God’s Word does to us is it comes into our minds and hearts and convicts US of sin. Woe be to the man or woman who reads it as says “I am righteous”.”

10:07 AM – Dr. Barrick is teaching us that in Leviticus 19 the law is first summarized as holiness (v.1-8), then as love (v.9-18), then repeats as both holiness and love again in v.19-28 and v29-37. “Jesus quoted Leviticus 19:18 in Matt 22 because it applies to all people. It displays His character, it reflects who God is.”

10:11 AM – “I would suggest you read through chapters 18-20, and pay special attention to Leviticus 20:9 and following… The beginning of these terrible sins is in the home. When disobedience and rebellion against parents is rampant, you will see a ramping up of all the other sins as well.”

‘If there is anyone who curses his father or his mother, he shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother, his bloodguiltiness is upon him. {Lev 20:9 NASB}

10:15 AM – “Does the immorality of these sins mean that we ought to implement the death penalty for those who commit them? No, but we must realize that these sins are WORTHY of such a response.”

10:18 AM

10:30 AM

But first, we sing!

10:48 AM

10:58 AM – Pastor Abendroth is preaching from Ephesians 5. His message is called “Clear Thinking in a Dull Age”. 10:55 AM

10:58 AM – Pastor Mike is outlining the goals of Christ’s love for the bride (the church). #1 – So that He would sanctify her: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,” {Eph 5:25-26 NASB}

11:00 AM – Goal #2 of Christ’s love for the bride (the church): For the presentation of Christ to the Church. “that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory,” {Eph 5:27a NASB}

11:03 AM – Goal #3 of Christ’s love for the bride (the church): So that she would be holy and blameless. “having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.” {Eph 5:27b NASB}

11:05 AM

11:09 AM – “When we speak about homosexuality, we should not say “I’m against gay marriage” and leave it there. We should say “I’m against gay marriage because I’m FOR the Gospel.” -Pastor Abendroth 11:12 AM – Some questions from Pastor Abendroth (summarized): #1 Where are the “no men” in our churches today? We have many yes men, but where are the men that will stand against something? Many say they don’t want to be involved in the gay marriage fight, but we have to ask ourselves if it is a fight worth fighting. 11:19 AM – Some questions from Pastor Abendroth (summarized): #2 Have you bought this lie: “I want to be know for what I’m for and not for what I’m against.”? Does everything have to be wrapped up in positive tones? The moment you are for something, you are against something. Example: For holiness, and against ungodliness.

11:22 AM – Some questions from Pastor Abendroth (summarized):

#3 Why can’t you be both a lover and a fighter? Remember Jude: “Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.” {Jde 1:3 NASB}. The fight has come to us.

11:25 AM – Some questions from Pastor Abendroth (summarized): #4 Has your definition of marriage changed? The dictionary has changed throughout the years, but woe to those who call evil good. 11:26 AM – Some questions from Pastor Abendroth (summarized): #5 Have you forgotten about judgement day? “Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.” {Heb 13:4 NASB} 11:27 AM – Some questions from Pastor Abendroth (summarized): #6 Are you suprised? Don’t be. Expect the world to oppose us. 11:29 AM – Some questions from Pastor Abendroth (summarized): #7 Are you worried? Do you think God is worried? If God has justified you, if he has redeemed you, if you can trust Him for salvation, can’t you trust Him in this? God didn’t fall off His throne when SCOTUS voted 5-4. “I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He will bring about at the proper time–He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.” {1Ti 6:13-16 NASB} 11:32 AM – Pastor Mike ends with this. What an incredible sermon.

11:34 AM – LUNCH TIME!!! We’ll be back after we eat. #ChickFilA

12:41 PM

12:42 PM – Pastor Jimmy opens his remarks by reading some of the “gay Christian” leaders and highlighting their assumptions that those who profess Christ are Christians, apart from their lifestyle. 12:44 PM Jimmy is preaching from 1 John 4:7-8, reading verses 7-10. “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” {1Jo 4:7-10 NASB} 12:53 PM

12:54 PM – “There are two reasons to love other believers: 1) The source (God) & 2) those who love are born of God and love Him.” -Pastor Jimmy

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. {1Jo 4:7 NASB}

12:58 PM – “When you see love in another person, you see God’s love already in them and he presently KNOWS God. It’s one thing you can know for sure about them.” – Pastor Jimmy

1:01 PM

1:05 PM – “The inevitable character trait of the one who knows God is love, because God is a loving God. Those who don’t know God cannot love because they don’t know the God who is love.” 1:08 PM – Jimmy continues to flesh out the grammar of 1 John 4 to demonstrate to us that God is love, but love is not God. When love is true Biblical love, it reflects God’s character. So then to say that we are not loving when we will not accept homosexuality is not unloving. In fact, telling them to the truth is the most loving thing we can do.

1:21 PM – “As the world gets darker, we ought to be brighter and brighter. And as they get tired of having the light in their eyes, they’ll probably do something about it. Don’t cave. Never ever cave.” -Pastor Jimmy

1:24 PM – BREAK TIME! We’ll be back in 10 minutes or so with our closing message, “Easy to Believe: Lies About Homosexuality/Gay Marriage” by Pastor Mike Abendroth.

1:38 PM – Pastor Mike Abendroth begins by quoting Kevin DeYoung on popular responses from LGBT people to us asking what we would say to such rhetoric.

1:47 PM – Lie #1 you shouldn’t believe: Homosexuals are our enemies.

Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?” But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. “But go and learn what this means: ‘I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” {Mat 9:10-13 NASB}

1:57 PM – Compassion means calling sinners to repentance. Pharisees say to let the sinners be in their sin. Jesus called them out of sin instead.

2:00 PM – Lie #2 you shouldn’t believe: If you disagree with the sin of homosexuality you are a bigot and a homophobe.

2:02 PM – Lie #3 you shouldn’t believe: Homosexuality is a thriving lifestyle; in other words being “gay” is gay.

Pastor Mike is highlighting some terrible statistics regarding the increased health risks of homosexuality, including a loss of 20 years of life expectancy (mostly due to HIV). “The damaging effects of cigarette smoking pale in comparison. A smoker loses 13% of their life expectancy, homosexuals lose over 32%.”

2:04 PM – “Suicide is up in the gay community, depression is up in the gay community, and this happens even in cultures where it is accepted, this is still true.”

2:08 PM – Lie #4 you shouldn’t believe: Since homosexuals are born homosexual, they are not responsible for being homosexual.

because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. {Rom 1:19-23 NASB}

But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. {Jas 1:14-15 NASB}

2:12 PM – Lie #5 you shouldn’t believe: Society flourishes when sexual freedom grows.

Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. {Rom 1:24-32 NASB}

The “bell tolls” for the sinner again and again in this passage. Again and again “God gave them over”.

2:14 PM – Lie #6 you shouldn’t believe: We’re better than homosexuals.

2:20 PM – “Many have passed the rocks of grotesque sins, who have suffered shipwreck on the sands of self-righteousness.”

“It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.” {1Ti 1:15 NASB}

2:25 PM – Spurgeon: The greatest enemy to human souls is the self-righteous attitude that keeps them from looking to another for salvation.

2:27 PM – Lie #7 you shouldn’t believe: It’s very difficult to be deceived about homosexuality.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. {1Co 6:9-11 NASB}

2:27 PM – Lie #8 you shouldn’t believe: Homosexuals will never change.

“The homosexual’s real enemy is his ignorance that he can be helped.”

2:33 PM – What do you do when you meet a homsexual? Evangelize them like anyone else. What should we do about homosexuality? Continue to study our Bibles. If we do these things, we’ll see change in sexual sins.

2:36 PM – That’s it for us this year. We’ll have videos of all the messages soon. Thanks for reading along with us, see you next year!
